Nice piece. This is a nice reminder that not all good ideas/innovations have been developed. Often, it is someone from the next gen that will make us aware of an opportunity the previous generation never imagined. On the other hand, to answer your question, yes, I often had ideas scorned by my father, but in retrospect he was more often than not, right! But, not always.
On a completely separate topic, I find it terribly ironic how the current war in the middle east between Israel / Palestinians (Roman name for Philistines) continues from their hatred of each other since the beginning in the book of Exodus.
Perhaps now is the time for Israel to do to them what God instructed them to do in Jeremiah 47:4?
My Grandfather often stated: “the only way to stop bigotry and racism is to have a world so inter-married across race and religious lines, you can’t tell one from the next”. Like your article points out, perhaps Samson was on to something good!
Thanks Del - I always appreciate your insight, and the ideal of balancing the innovation (from the next gen) and wisdom (from the senior gen) to get a great family business outcome!
